What Komyut is
Komyut is a cost-sharing platform that connects commuters travelling the same corridor. Members who drive (“offerers”) offer seats on trips they are already making; members who need a seat (“riders”) reserve them. Komyut is not a transport operator or taxi service, and offerers are not employees or contractors of Komyut.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. You must complete phone and identity verification before booking or offering a seat. Offerers must also provide a valid driver’s licence and vehicle documents and pass a manual review.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
Fares and payments
Komyut sets one fare per corridor and departure window. Offerers cannot change fares, and riders cannot negotiate them. All payments are made in the app through our payment provider, Paystack. Offerers receive 85% of each fare; Komyut retains 15% as a platform fee.
Cash payments between members are not permitted.
Cancellations and refunds
If an offerer cancels a trip, every rider who paid for it is refunded automatically. Rider cancellation terms are shown in the app at the time of booking. Repeated late cancellations may lead to restrictions on your account.
Offerer responsibilities
Offerers must hold a valid licence, keep their vehicle roadworthy, insured and registered as required by law, follow traffic laws, and only carry riders booked through the app. Offerers may not use Komyut to operate a commercial transport business.
Conduct
Everyone must follow our community guidelines. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or that put other members at risk, including while we investigate a report.
