Privacy policy
Komyut needs some personal data to verify members and run safe shared commutes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: [DATE]
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number and profile photo.
- Verification data: government-issued ID and a live selfie; for offerers, driver’s licence and vehicle documents.
- Trip data: corridors, bookings, pickup and drop-off points, ratings and reviews.
- Payment data: processed by Paystack. Komyut never stores your full card number.
- Support data: messages and reports you send us.
How we use it
To verify identities and review offerers; to match riders and offerers and run trips; to process payments, payouts and refunds; to handle support requests and safety reports; and to keep the platform secure and prevent fraud.
What other members see
When you are matched on a trip, the other member sees your first name, photo, rating and the trip details. Offerers’ car model and plate number are shown to their riders. Your verification documents are never shown to other members.
How we protect it
Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it, and every admin action on accounts, refunds and cases is recorded in an audit trail.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to certain uses, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act. Some data must be kept for legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons.
To make a request, email support@mykomyut.com.
