The basics

Is Komyut a taxi or ride-hailing service?

No. Offerers are everyday commuters already making the trip to work. Riders share the cost of a seat on that trip. Nobody drives for Komyut full-time.

Which routes do you cover?

We are piloting on Ajah → Victoria Island. New corridors open based on demand — join the waitlist and tell us your route.

When can I start using Komyut?

We’re opening the pilot to people on the waitlist first. Join it and we’ll let you know as soon as seats open on your corridor.

Do I need a separate app to offer seats?

No. One account does both. Drive on Monday, ride on Tuesday — switch between seeking and offering a seat any time.

Fares & payments

How are fares set?

Komyut’s operations team sets a fixed fare for each corridor and departure window. Riders and offerers can’t change it, so there is no surge pricing and no negotiating.

How do I pay?

All payments happen in the app through Paystack. No cash changes hands in the car.

How much does an offerer earn?

Offerers keep 85% of every fare. Komyut’s 15% fee pays for verification, payments and customer support.

How do payouts work?

Offerer earnings are paid to your bank account in regular payout runs.

Safety & trust

How do you verify members?

Every member confirms their phone number by SMS and verifies their identity with a government ID and selfie. Offerers also submit a driver’s licence and vehicle documents, which our trust & safety team reviews before they can post trips.

What happens if a trip is cancelled?

If an offerer cancels, every rider who paid for that trip is refunded automatically and notified in the app.

What if something goes wrong on a trip?

Message support from inside the app and a real person will answer. Reports go straight to a case handler.

Can other members see my ID documents?

No. Matched members see your first name, photo, rating and trip details. Your verification documents are only seen by Komyut’s trust & safety team.

Offering seats

What do I need to offer seats?

A verified Komyut account, a valid driver’s licence and your vehicle registration papers. Our trust & safety team reviews every offerer by hand before they can post trips.

Can I choose when I drive?

Yes. You only post trips on days you are driving anyway, and you choose the departure time and how many seats to offer.

Do I have to make detours?

No. Riders meet you at fixed pickup and drop-off points along the corridor.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel in the app as early as you can. Every rider who paid for the trip is refunded automatically and notified.

Still need help?

Message us from inside the app for the fastest reply, or email our support team.

Safety concern?

In an emergency, call us on 0813 338 1873, or 112 for police and ambulance. Then report it in the app so a case handler can act on it.
